She's so glad they had this time together.
Carol Burnett chatted with Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday as she prepared to celebrate her 91st birthday, and the late-night host surprised her with a message from Bradley Cooper — whom she recently joked was on her to-do list. In a video played on the show, the "Maestro" star wished Burnett a "very happy" birthday.
"I've been such a massive fan of yours ever since I was a kid," Cooper said in the sincere clip. "Watched your show religiously, and it's a thrill to leave you this message. I hope to meet you one day and maybe even work together. I hope you have a great day."
But Cooper's heartfelt message didn't acknowledge the raunchy comments that prompted Kimmel to reach out. On "Live with Kelly and Mark" in March, amid a discussion about things she still wants to do in her 90s, Burnett quipped that she was "thinking about Bradley Cooper."
She cracked a similar joke about George Clooney last year, naming the "Ocean's Eleven" star when asked what she still wants to accomplish in her 90s.

"Brad, give Carol a call," Kelly Ripa said directly into the camera last month, although after suggesting the two would make a great couple, Burnett shot back, "Yes, but I don't think it will work with my husband." She has been married to Brian Miller since 2001.
Burnett was visibly stunned by Cooper's message and thanked Kimmel for the "hysterical" birthday present. "It's not sex, but it's a step in that direction," the late-night host joked.
The legendary "Carol Burnett Show" star is celebrating her 91st birthday on Friday.
Last year, her 90th birthday was celebrated with the star-studded NBC special "Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love," featuring Cher, Katy Perry and more stars. It later won an Emmy for best pre-recorded variety special.

This year, though, Burnett is keeping things a bit more low-key. The "Palm Royale" star told Kimmel she would simply be "going out with some friends."
